Governor Abbott Appoints Von Biedenfeld And Whyte To Public Transportation Advisory Committee

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Dietrich M. Von Biedenfeld and Marc K. Whyte to the Public Transportation Advisory Committee for terms to expire at the pleasure of the Governor. The committee advises the Texas Department of Transportation on public transportation issues, funds, and rules.

Dietrich M. Von Biedenfeld of West Columbia is an assistant professor at University of Houston Downtown. He is an alderman for West Columbia City Council, member of the State Bar of Texas and the Federal Bar Association, and an advisory commission member of the American Bar Association. He is also a trustee of the Columbia United Methodist Church, legislative chair and life member of auxiliary for the Disabled American Veterans, and a charter member of the National World War II Museum. Additionally, he is a former member of the Texas Council on Purchasing from People with Disabilities and a former volunteer of the Boy Scouts of America and Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston. Von Biedenfeld received a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of Houston and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Mississippi.

Marc K. Whyte of San Antonio is an attorney in private practice. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Port of San Antonio, former member of the City of San Antonio Ethics Review Board, and a former board mermber of the Faith Family Clinic. He is also former president of Defense Counsel of San Antonio and a former member of the Valero Alamo Bowl Committee. Whyte received a Bachelor of Science in business from Wake Forest University in North Carolina and a Juris Doctor degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio.
